Five Sounds Mistaken For Bigfoot

Strange sounds are some of the most commonly reported evidence of bigfoot creature activity.

There is the famous “Ohio Howl” and the “Sierra Sounds” that stand above all.

Not everything crying out in the woods however is a sasquatch. There are lots of animals making noises out there and some of them might sound a bit squatch to the untrained ear. Here are four that people might think come from something tall, bipedal and hairy.

Barred Owl: Barred owls make several vocalizations but one of them sounds quite monkey-like. This can sound really freaky at night when a couple of them are making this odd sound in the distance.

Elk: For someone who has never been into elk country, the bugle of an elk can sound quite strange. Elk are now being restored to the Eastern United States with established populations in Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Many people there are not used to hearing elk like those in the western half of the country. A big bull blasting his bugle call near a tent in the middle of the night could easily be mistaken by an inexperienced researcher.

Feral Hogs: Hogs make many noises and several YouTube videos claiming bigfoot creature vocalizations are easily identified as hogs. They grunt, squeal and even make a growling type noise when fighting.

Coyotes: Coyotes? For real? Yes.

Coyotes calling out in a pack, especially at distance, sound weird. And when people are a little spooked thing about squatches roaming the area, they sometimes mistake coyotes for you know who.

Once again several YouTube videos show some folks have a problem telling the difference.

Not everyone’s a wildlife expert and no one is a bigfoot expert so that’s not an issue. We just wanted to go over a few of these to help you navigate your way through weird sounds in the North American forest.
