Elk Hunter Encounters Bigfoot in Idaho

Bigfoot Encounter Report
Location: North Idaho
Date: Early 1980s to Present
Witnesses: Single individual

Incident Details:
The witness, a lifelong resident of North Idaho, noticed a significant increase in Bigfoot sightings in the region over the years, particularly around elk migration corridors. After taking a 30-year break from hunting, they returned to the woods and began observing unusual signs, such as trees broken in ways that seemed impossible by natural means.

During their first hunting trip back, the witness encountered dense fog obscuring a valley about 150 feet away. Strange noises came from the area, including chattering—something they initially attributed to elk, despite it being unlike any elk behavior they’d previously experienced. They dismissed the event at the time, believing they lacked expertise.

On a subsequent trip, the witness shot an elk but quickly realized they weren’t the only predator on the trail. They unknowingly walked into what appeared to be a coordinated ambush set by the creatures. The elk they had shot had already been claimed by something else.

The forest was dark and foggy, making it impossible to see, so the witness used thermal goggles. Through the thermals, they saw figures that confirmed their suspicions. Despite being in immediate proximity—less than two seconds away by the creatures’ speed—they remained unharmed. The only direct interaction was a pinecone being thrown at them.

The witness noted that the creatures displayed incredible stealth and intelligence, moving in a way that left the seasoned outdoorsman feeling outmatched. Despite carrying high-caliber firearms, the witness never reached for their weapon, sensing that resistance would have been futile.

Follow-Up Notes:
The witness expressed gratitude for the creatures' restraint, stating that if they had been hostile, the outcome would have been far different. The experience was unsettling yet humbling, reinforcing the witness’s belief that not all Bigfoot are aggressive. The encounter left them convinced of the creatures’ existence, particularly in relation to migrating elk in North Idaho.
